Population Locations: Sandhoof Basin, Dunesong Village
Outpost Locations: Dynastayria
Considered one of the oldest “modern” races due to their ancestors being uprooted from Kanetsu and controlled breeding brought about the creation of the Lidaes. The Standard Lidaes were used primarily as pack carriers as well as for carrying children since they are capable of carrying as much as 550lbs (250kg). They have also evolved to develop humps on their backs to store resources that allow them to go without food or water for extended periods of time. Typically before a very long journey they would eat extremely large meals and drink gallons of water to keep their reserves up for the journey where resources would be scarce and unavailable to them. The Saurriders made use of the Lidaes when their steeds weren't enough. Lidaes have since been freed of their lives of slavery and primarily do trade now across Kanetsu and the rest of Dragoso.
Population Locations: Sandhoof Basin, Heatcrest Landing
Outpost Locations: Dynastayria
A smaller version of the Standard Lidaes. Desert Lidaes were also used as pack carriers and as transport for young children, but thanks to their incredible strength, they would also plow fields. Desert Lidaes were also unfortunately commonly kept like livestock and would be sheared for their wool and killed for their hide to use as leather. This was one of the more barbaric things done to the Lidaes in ancient times. Many of the Shellstompers on Dynastayria at the time would only take their wool and use them as pack carriers and plowing. Others like the Saurriders on Kanetsu were the ones who killed them for their resources. Like the Standard Lidaes, they developed humps on their backs to store resources for long journeys.
Population Locations: Sandhoof Basin, El Barranco Aldea
Outpost Locations: Synthetisch
While the Standard and Desert variations of the Lidaes are adept for the desert, the Guardian Lidaes are built for the mountains. They are extremely nimble and surefooted, which made them valuable pack carriers for the Forgeclimbers on Synthetisch. Not only were they used as pack carriers, but they also had incredible eyesight and a unique call that they used to alert livestock and shepherds of any predators that attempted to attack the herd. Some say that the Guardian Lidaes are very similar to Earth’s llamas.
Population Locations: Sandhoof Basin, Suristone Village
Outpost Locations: Arcaneia
Slightly smaller versions of the Guardian Lidaes. The Wooly Lidaes get their name due to their wool being extremely thick and used by the Arcanewalkers as clothing material. Due to the soft fleece the Wooly Lidaes grew, they were treasured among the Arcanewalkers. They would also be used to assist in harvesting various resources across Arcaneia along with those who owned them. While they were not known for being pack carriers, they typically would carry the resources home.
Population Locations: Dryhorn Village
Probably considered the most unique looking out of all the Lidaes, the Horned Lidaes are considered to be much more like antelopes instead of the camelids that the rest of the Lidaes appear to be like. They have hooves and spiraled horns. They had once been a collective of Sandtrudgers that managed to avoid the roundup thanks to their choice of living within the Kanetsu Sandstone Caverns. They had soon evolved hooves to harden their feet on the hard sandstone and horns to assist in defending themselves as well as using them to impress females. Horned Lidae colors range from tan, reddish-brown, dark brown, and black. Their horns are commonly cut from them to be used in rituals and medicine, though it is unknown if their horns actually do anything to help. Luckily their horns regrow within a few months and nobody loses their lives over horn cutting.
Ancestors to the Lidaes. Originally from Kanetsu, however, due to a massive roundup, they were uprooted from their home planet and distributed among Dynastayria, Synthetisch, and Arcaneia. Over the years, selective breeding brought about the Lidaes and made them the oldest “modern” race ever present within Dragoso. Once the ancient races had the Lidaes, the Sandtrudgers became obsolete and soon died out due to the lack of numbers which resulted in a lack of resources.
