Cordavers are a raven-like race with very advanced necromancy capabilities. Cordavers managed to survive the decay of Whedabra and remain very alive looking instead of decayed like everything found on Whedabra. The Cordavers make use of the decay found on the planet by using various bones and large bodies for their homes. They use their magic to manipulate the pure soul energy of the dead bodies to use as a weapon should they ever need to protect their homes alongside using their necromancy to defend as well. While not every Cordaver has necromancy magic, almost all of them work with dead bodies found not just on Whedabra, but all over Dragoso. Cordaver Necromancy has its limits, however, as some unknown force prevents them from reanimating any of the ancient races. The Tenkkoa have been assisting the Cordavers in this block, but even the magically proficient birdfolk are unable to figure out the reason for the block. To this day, they still don't have an answer.

Sanguine Cordavers are a crow-like race with varying traits due to their unique type of magic. They are able to fuse samples of blood into their biology which in turn can change their appearance. The Sanguine Cordavers work with the Undead and the Tenkkoa to gain these blood samples as a means of gathering knowledge as well as finding the perfect traits to survive on Whedabra. Their home planet is considered one of the harshest planets to live on, next to Sakit and Xarzith, so their research to improve survival is always ongoing. There are many limitations to their blood fusing, however. The blood samples they use must be alive, the cells inside the blood must have living red blood cells, else it is not usable. They are unable to fuse with any of the samples that were preserved in some unique ancient race specimens, nor can they fuse with Undead blood samples. Both examples of these, the red blood cells are dead. Sanguine Cordavers have also been documented rejecting samples from Vampires and Werewolves for unknown reasons that they are still working on figuring out why this is. Some parts of their blood research goes towards finding traits to help them survive on other planets within Dragoso much more efficiently than the native races in case of any discovery of another viable star system outside of Dragoso or Sol. While they are not supported by the Voutneth Academy nor do the races of Dragoso interact much with the Humans of Earth, some Sanguine Cordavers have been given special clearance to work with Human scientists on their research of survival traits in various environments.

The Depths variant of the Cordavers. Corax Cordavers are a green jay-likerace that make their homes in tree roots and decorate their homes with small bones. In the early years of their existence, they focused primarily on survival within the Whedabra Crypts. They soon discovered they were quite skilled in handling various biological creations that could typically cause mass casualty numbers. One of the first biological creations they ever handled was Anthrax. Because of how dangerous bioweapons were, Corax Cordavers took security seriously to prevent killing their own numbers while they researched these creations. By the time the infection of Sakit occurred, they had developed a bioweapon of their own that was made to consume other bioweapons. These were spores that were the size of a nickel that could consume solids, liquids, and gas. They tested their spores with Anthrax samples they had and discovered their bioweapon consumed the Anthrax spores and left behind no traces at all. It had become the perfect security and disposal method of bioweapon research. They used their spores on infected species from Sakit, only to discover that their spores killed infected specimens alongside the infested spores. It had been discovered that the infested spores that plagued Sakit were extremely ingrained in everything. The Corax Cordavers decided to withdraw from the project to cleanse Sakit and instead focus on their bioweapon development. They deemed the cleansing to be too massive of a project and everything that lived on Sakit would be lost. They didn’t want to partake in the extinction of the unique lifeforms on Sakit. While they have the capabilities to use their bioweapon spores, Corax Cordavers primarily wanted to do research on bioweapons as a whole as a precautious should Dragoso or even Earth ever encounter mass pandemics of bioweapons from those who intend to do harm with them. Corax Cordavers also branched off their research to work and research disease control as well as develop vaccines. While their spores are now used to consume bioweapons and other projects within their labs, the spores are able to consume flesh on any who attempt to hurt the Cordavers. In theory, though never actually utilized, the spores could skin a dragon without harming any of the major arteries.
Ancestors to the Cordavers. Carrionseekers had worked closely with the Beastskippers in their summoning efforts in search of the ultimate creature. They were experts in necromancy so they helped with reviving the dead very frequently. However, they were warned by seers about getting too greedy with their summoning efforts and decided to take the warning seriously. They withdrew their assistance after the Beastskippers talked about excessive summoning efforts. The greed they were warned about appeared before them and they wanted nothing to do with it. Carrionseekers unfortunately witnessed the summoning of the Great Undead Beast and did their best to survive the beast’s rampage on Whedabra. Luckily, enough Carrionseekers survived to evolve into the Cordavers, bigger versions of themselves with far more advanced necromancy skills.
