I am Xinyi from class 2A2 .

I have never regretted being a student of Juying Secondary School. I went to the school’s Open House and the seniors were very friendly. A programme I would like to share is the Applied Learning Programme (ALP), which builds up our confidence and public speaking skills. After I joined Juying Secondary School, I applied to join the ALP Talent Development Programme. I went for training and learnt the importance of good body posture, proper use of hand gestures and how to present ideas succinctly and passionately. I had the enriching opportunity to serve at Gardens By The Bay as a Gardens Ambassador at the Cloud Forest. This was a very precious experience for me as I was not only able to apply and sharpen my public speaking skills, it also provided me with the authentic opportunity to interact with tourists.

The most memorable experience I had was the secondary one CCA experience day. I needed to give instructions for a game. I rehearsed very hard for it and got feedback from my friends. Eventually, I was not only able to speak more confidently and give clear instructions, but more importantly, I stepped out of my comfort zone.

In Juying, we also have PASSION modules. My passion module last year was Outreach and we went to the Enabling Village and learned about how the facilities were built to help people who are less abled. We also had a sharing session with other school teachers and this was also another way to enhance my public presentation skills.

Lastly, we have teachers who are thoughtful, as well as friendly and helpful seniors whom I am very grateful to meet. I believe you will feel a great a sense of belonging when you join our Juying family and experience many precious moments here!
