So, how many of you find it difficult to find a perfect secondary school? Well, it’s alright because I used to feel that way too! I was really afraid to continue my studies at a new place and a new environment. Besides that, the thought of leaving all my primary school friends saddened me as well. However, now, I am able to forge new friendships and create long-lasting memories and enjoy my secondary school life as it is.

Before I begin, let me introduce myself. I am Asyuhrah.
I was formerly from Boon Lay Primary School.

I am here to share with all of you my 3 awesome years of experience in Juying. As you all may know, Juying is known to have many specialised programmes. However, out of all the programmes that I have gone to, I really like Lead Camp. Wait, Camps again? No, it’s not the kind of camp that you might be thinking. Before that, I want to ask a question.

How many of you have tried 13km kayaking before? Well, I have done that in Lead Camp. It is very exhausting but it was a wonderful experience. Not only that, I was really lucky to be able to be selected to go in this camp and spent my 4 days 3 nights with friends of different streams. I was really enjoying myself during the camp. I don’t even realise that I was able to forge new friendships with them.

At that moment, it doesn't really matter if you’re in NA, NT or Express because all of us were persevering through the difficult days and worked together in ensuring that all of us stayed close with each other. Just as the saying goes, “Leave no man behind,”

Besides that, Juying has provided me a lot of opportunities to grow and unleash my fullest capabilities. For example, last year I was given a chance to be an emcee for and important event in school. Before this, I was really shy and afraid to talk to people. It was really difficult for me to even utter a word to new people and that’s the reason why I found it hard to leave my primary school friends. Without that opportunity. I will not be able to talk in front of all of you today. Through this opportunity, I have discovered something new about myself. I found out that I am more open that I though and that I love engaging with others. I was really pleased to be able to speak up more confidently and freely without any fear.

Before I end my sharing, I would like to say one more thing. Juying Secondary is really an excellent school for you to realise and unleash your potential.
