Min Khant

Min Khant has been familiar with Juying Secondary School since he was young as it was just next to his Primary School.

When the time came to choose a secondary school which would be best suited for him, we studied the information of many Secondary Schools. With our friends’ recommendation and our son’s own interest to attend the school, we considered Juying Secondary School as our first choice.

We recognized Juying Secondary School as the first and best choice for our son’s future academic and character development when we saw the passionate and caring teachers and the pleasant school environment. We wanted our son to be accepted into Juying Secondary School.

He has become more independent and confident since entering Juying Secondary School, and is happy to study Robotics as part of his CCA. What Juying Secondary School offers is not only for the students but for the parents as well, as they frequently conduct workshops to enhance our understanding on how to develop a better relationship among family members.

Our family was involved in the Teachers’ Day Gift Making Project, which is one of the most memorable moments for us and will be remembered always. Through this activity, we bonded as a family and I also got to know my son’s friends and their parents better. On the day of the project, I brought Min Khant’s younger brother along to make cookies for Teachers’ day. I remembered feeling worried that we would not know how to make the cookies as we had never done it before. Upon arriving at the school, the teachers explained to us the steps to make the cookies while they demonstrated it. They then put the students and parents into groups to make the cookies. Our sons were delighted to have a chance to bake cookies themselves and put them in jars tied with beautiful ribbons for the teachers. Min Khant is interested in the Food and Consumer Education (FCE) subject and was satisfied to have personally made food for his loved ones. In fact, after joining Juying Secondary School, Min Khant has become more involved in helping out in the kitchen at home. He even cooked his favourite spaghetti for the family, using the knowledge he gained from school.

History and Geography used to be daunting for Min Khant. However, now he enjoys them and is doing well thanks to the perseverance of the teachers at Juying Secondary School and their patience in explaining whatever difficulties he might have. They have also provided him and others, whenever possible, with extra lessons and assignments so that they would understand the content better.

Min Khant is also very interested in Design and Technology. Thanks to the teacher, he now knows how to sketch out the image of his idea systematically and is very eager to become an inventor of new electronic devices.

In conclusion, Juying Secondary school not only empowers students to perform well academically, they also implement programmes designed to help students achieve their full potential and become well-rounded individuals.
