TEO SHI JIE (2017)

I am Teo Shi Jie from Class 3E1.

I chose Juying Secondary School as it is convenient and very close to my house. More importantly, the facilities in the school are extensive which I can use to enhance my learning in school.

When I was Secondary One, I was given a scholarship. I am thankful that I was given the scholarship because the monetary funds allowed me to buy books and stationeries.

There are many engaging activities in the school and there are two events which I enjoyed. Firstly, it was the Fitness Run Event in 2015. It was my first time participating in the fitness run event so it was refreshing. Furthermore, I had the chance to run with my peers and bond with them. We cheered for each other. During the event, I learnt the importance of sportsmanship and resilience.

Besides the Fitness Run Event, I also enjoyed taking part in the Secondary One Kayaking Orientation Programme. I had never kayaked before and was glad that I was given the opportunity to learn a new sport. Although it was tiring, it was memorable because I was able to work closely with my peers to learn the new sport. I was able to push myself to greater heights as well.

At Juying Secondary School, you will not only be able to participate in enriching programmes, you will be surrounded with many caring teachers.

My favourite teacher is Mr Thomas Ong. He teaches me Additional Math. He always makes sure that everyone in class understands the new concepts before he teaches new concepts. He will occasionally crack a few jokes and share about his life experiences.
