RIA INSYIERAH

I chose Juying Secondary School (JYSS) as my brothers, who used to be JYians, told me that Juying is a good school. They also told me that Juying has a good and has conducive environment to study. After joining JYSS, I agree with what they said as throughout my four years of studying in JYSS, I found the environment conducive to study in.

The events I have enjoyed were Teacher's Day cum ACES Day. I enjoyed these events as during ACES Day celebrations, all JYians danced the JYian dance together and this was really exciting as the atmosphere and the fun we had were memorable. During the Teacher's Day Celebration, I was able to see some talented JYians performing for the teachers. It was fun celebrating Teachers’ Day.

Juying Secondary has developed my leadership skills. Before this, I did not know that I had the potential to be a leader. However, after getting the opportunity to be a Class Chairperson in Secondary 2, I learnt how to be a good leader. The school also provides workshops for the leaders so that we can learn to be better leaders. Through these workshops, I was able to be a good CCA Leader as I have learnt a lot from the workshops.

My favourite teacher is Miss Lau Jiayun. She is very caring and kind. At times when the class felt miserable, she always tried to do something for the class so that we could feel better. She never failed to motivate us whenever we feel stressed and consoles us whenever we feel sad about something. She is also my favourite teacher as I can open up to her whenever I need someone to talk to about something. She often gives me suggestions to my problems and most of the times, these suggestions have helped me.

My CCA is Cultural Dance. It was something different from my previous CCA in primary school, which was Brass band. It was an excellent decision as I managed to dance to more than three types of dances throughout my four years being a Cultural Dancer. Some of the dances include Malay, Chinese, Bollywood and Thai dance. It was a great experience being able to perform different types of dance. Besides that, I was able to meet wonderful seniors who went out of their ways to help me whenever I have difficulties during practices.

All in all, Juying Secondary has been the right choice for me.
