I chose Juying Secondary School as my first choice as I learned that top scorers would get a scholarship for ourselves. This scholarship helps to boost our confidence as we feel that we have achieved something great. Furthermore, Juying Secondary School has great facilities. I enjoy being in the clean, friendly and safe environment that Juying Secondary School has provided.

I enjoyed the R3IGHT camp that Juying Secondary School seniors have organised and planned for the Secondary 1 pupils. I enjoyed it as we got to know our new classmates better. The campfire was my favourite part of the camp as we got to perform with our class. My class danced to a really fun song and the audience seemed to like it. We also did cheers and everyone felt united as we did the school cheers with pride.

My favourite teacher in Juying Secondary School is Mdm Nyai Diyanah Kartini. She is also my CCA teacher-in-charge. I like Mdm Nyai Diyanah Kartini as she is a very understanding teacher. She is also very friendly and she understands and respects us students. She is also a very motivating teacher as she tells me to do well for any CCA events. She is definitely a teacher I could look up to.

As for my CCA, I am in the CCA Cultural Dance. At first I was new to the team as I had to transfer to this CCA. Nevertheless, I managed to cope with the new team because of the friends and seniors I have in Cultural Dance along with me by my side. Cultural Dance teaches me many kinds of dance. Some examples are dances of different cultures such as Malay, Chinese and Indian dance. We also learn modern dance.

Everyone in Cultural Dance is really friendly and if you have a question they will answer nicely. At times like competitions, the training does get hard but we learn to rise as a team by practicing hard together. Being in Cultural Dance has taught me many values about friendship and resilience. I definitely recommend Cultural Dance as a choice of CCA because of the friendly environment and also the great exposure to different kinds of dances.

The scholarship benefited me in many ways. For example, I gained more confidence as I felt that I have made my parents proud with something that I have achieved myself. The money that I have received from the scholarship has also benefited me positively. Now, I have enough money for my future plans such as education and purchase of books. This scholarship has most certainly impacted me positively.
