These two years in Juying has been very eventful for me. To begin with, I would like to write about my most memorable experience in Juying, which would be the LEAD camp. It was a four- day three-night leadership camp . We went to Pulau Ubin and we had many fun-filled activities throughout the four days. We went kayaking in the open sea and went on a 10 km land expedition followed by a night walk through the jungle. There were many physical and mental challenges set for us but everyone in the camp worked together to overcome them. The camp has taught me not to panic when encountering a problem. It has brought me closer with my friends as there must be mutual belief in one other in order to face challenges together. The camp has also taught me about discipline and also to adapt to our surroundings no matter how uncomfortable it is. I have water phobia but when my kayak capsized deep in the open sea, I did not panic as I trust my friends. Through their encouragement, I got out of my comfort zone and have overcome my water phobia.

Secondly, let me tell you about my favourite teacher in Juying, Ms Roslin, my form teacher. Ms Roslin is my favourite teacher even though she only started teaching me in July. But in such a short time, we managed to build up a strong teacher and student bond. I always enjoy her lessons as she knows how to make her lessons fun and fruitful through many creative ways. I have a lot to learn from her and I am very glad that she is my teacher.

My CCA is the Strategic Games Club. The Strategic Games Club focuses mainly on games that require a lot of strategic thinking, like Chess. However, we do also focus on games that train us in thinking skills such as Scrabble, Risk and so on. We went for a Chinese Chess competition earlier this year and we won first place despite the fierce competition among the schools participating.

Finally, I want to write about why I chose Juying as my first choice. I was surprised when I entered the school during the Open House. The school has many facilities used for outdoor education and as I explored the school, I saw that it was really huge. Then, I met a student usher who left a deep impression on me. He was very polite and he held a few leadership roles as I could tell from the number of badges he had. He had a good knowledge of the school and was confidently introducing the school. I decided to join Juying so that I can become someone like him. By choosing Juying as my first choice, I was awarded a scholarship. This scholarship helped me a lot in purchasing the materials needed for studying . The scholarship also serves a motivation for me to work hard in my studies.
