My most memorable experience in Juying was the Sec 1 Orientation camp. The purpose of the camp is to let us get to know one another. There were many activities and outings during the camp. I still remember my first kayaking experience. It was hot but it was really fun! Through this experience, I feel that I have become a more resilient person.

Next I will like to tell more about my favourite teacher, Mr Soh Wei Qiang. Mr Soh is my form teacher. He has helped me countless times with my problems and he is a source of inspiration for me. Due to Mr Soh’s encouragement, I have become more confident of myself. You will meet many helpful and approachable teachers like Mr Soh if you come to Juying.

Besides wonderful teachers, Juying also has a huge variety of CCAs. I am in the Basketball club. Our club trainings might be very tough but I find it very rewarding especially after seeing my skills improve with each training session. Mr Soh is also the teacher in charge of the Basketball club. He personally encourages us to do our best for our trainings and competitions.

Lastly, let me share with you why I chose Juying as my first choice after the PSLE. Last year I went to the Open house at Juying. I was impressed with the excellent facilities and the wide range of CCAs. Mr Seet’s words were very inspiring too and sealed my decision to join Juying. By choosing Juying as my first choice, I was awarded a scholarship. With this scholarship, I was able to use it to ease my family’s financial burden. The scholarship also spurs me on to do well in my studies.
