John 8:31-32
The Truth Shall Set You Free
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 14:6-7
Jesus Tells His Disciples that He is Truth
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
John 18:37-38
Jesus Came to Earth to Testify to the Truth
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate.
Jesus said that He is Truth...And He also said that He came to earth to testify to the Truth...And He said that the Truth once we know would set us free...
I am not sure reason alone can get you to Truth...Learning about Truth involves faith...And faith requires us to believe that Jesus is Truth...Everyone on the side of Truth listens to Him...And in learning about Truth, we learn that Jesus' Truth is more about serving others than it is about leading anything or anyone...Jesus came and served others, helped others, and then died and became LORD and Savior...Truth maybe more about finding and helping others and being selfless like Jesus was, than to be selfish and doing whatever we want to do...Jesus taught us that we can be happy when we are less concerned about ourselves and more concerned about others...But this seems to take a long time to learn, and is not quite in our nature...In trying to live and survive and get through the day, our focus is more on ourselves than it is others...But being selfless and helping others more is a Truth worth learning and living, because in learning it, we learn more about the One who went about teaching it when He walked the earth and dwelt among us...
It is not control, money, or career, or fame, or anything on earth that can set one free...The Truth is what sets you free...Once you learn the Truth, you will be set free...
