John 1:1-14
The Word Became Flesh, and is Full of Grace and Truth
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:6-14
Jesus Says, I AM Truth
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
John 18:37-38
Jesus Came to Earth to Testify to the Truth
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.
Matthew 22:16
Jesus Teaches About Truth
16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher," they said, "we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are.
John 8:31-32
Knowing the Truth Shall Set You Free
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 17:3
Now This is Eternal Life, To Know the True God and Jesus
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
John 17:17
The Truth is Also God's Word
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
Jesus went around talking about the Truth...And then one day, He comes right out and says that He is Truth...It is clearly spoken...There is no getting around this statement as He clearly says that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life...So, if one believes Him, and that He is Truth, then Truth is this Person named Jesus...Truth is not rules or religion, but Truth is a Man...Jesus said God's Word is Truth...This kind of Truth, this Truth, this Man can set you free, as He came to earth to testify to the Truth...
When we study what He said, and that He is Truth, right after He says that He is Truth, then He claims that He is the only Way to God...Yet, another shocking and sensational statement...He is Truth and therefore the Way to God...Then He says right in line with these amazing statements of Truth and God, that if we really know Him, then we know His Father as well...We know God by knowing Him...From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him, because you have seen Me...So if we know Jesus, then we know God...And if we (or His Disciples) have seen Him (Jesus), then they have, in fact, seen God...Jesus is claiming to be the Truth of God, or God Himself...A Person who has came to earth is saying here that He knows God personally, in the very least...He came to earth, to testify to the Truth...So He is testifying God's Truth, because it is not by His authority that He is saying these things...And when He says from now on that you do know God and have seen Him, it seems (to me) He is saying that He is God...And if He is not saying that He is God, then He must be saying His Words are from God, and He is the ultimate expression of God...
The One who has came from His Father, is full of Grace and Truth...And when Jesus says the sentences and connects these sentences, "I AM the Way and the Truth and the Life...No one comes to the Father except through Me...If you really know Me, you will know My Father as well...From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him."...How do you read them?...How can He not be saying that He is Divine, and One with God?...How can one not believe that He is, in fact, in the Father, and that His Father is in Him?...The words that He spoke were not spoken on His own authority, but were God's Will...Rather, when He said these Words have came from His Father, and His Father lives in Him, then He would be doing His Father's work....So we should believe Him when He says that He is in the Father and the Father is in Him; or at least believe on the evidence of the teachings and miracles that He has done...Through all these things I believe He is telling us that He is really God in the Flesh...That the Word, the Logos, the True reason for His life and becoming Flesh and dwelling among us is to testify to us about God's Truth...So that we might be set free by His Truth and His Words...And we might get to know Him and His Father, so that we might have eternal life with the Two of Them...
