Matthew 9:9-13
The Calling of Matthew
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
John 17:3
Now This is Eternal Life
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
God had dreams for us with Him in Paradise...We were with God in Paradise...We had to leave Paradise because we sinned...But when we did fall from grace in the Garden of Eden, God knew it was going to happen...He, even at that time, knew that man would sin and be disobedient to Him...So, He had a plan...God's Plan to send us a Savior, who is His Son...So He would send His Son to us because we sin, and are in need of a Savior...God LOVES us so He wants us to spend eternity with Him...
God's Plan would encompass eternity for mankind through the His LOVE, even though we are sinners...Jesus came to earth for sinners...Jesus came from God so that we could accomplish our place with Him in eternity...So man and our lives are not defined by our sins, but of our faith in God and His Son...So the fall from grace was a very bad thing to happen to man, but the sending of His Son accomplishes our eternal life in the Greatest of Ways, if we believe in God and the One He sent...Jesus says it this way, "Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent."...
