John 17:3
Now this is Eternal Life
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
1 John 5:1-12
Believing in God and His Son Give Us Eternal Life
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
6 This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. 9 We accept man's testimony, but God's testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. 10 Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
Matthew 9:9-13
Jesus Came to Earth for Sinners
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Romans 10:9-10
Confessing Jesus is LORD and That God Raised Him From the Dead Saves Us From Our Sins
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
Jesus says the He is the Truth...He is the Way of Truth is a Way of life...Following the Truth helps us lead an abundant life...Jesus is the Light that helps us see the Truth and how to walk through and go through life in a better and abundant way...
As sinners, we need to be forgiven...And He came to earth to forgive us...And as He says we have to acknowledge that we sin...If we believe that we are righteous, He did not come for them (the righteous)...Jesus came for sinners...He died on the cross and atoned for our sins...But even though we are forgiven, we still have a sinful nature and are in a constant need of forgiveness, as we stumble with our sins regularly...We must acknowledge and confess our sins to God...Let us also asked Jesus and the Holy Spirit to be in our lives to help us with our sins and our sinful nature...
So we learn from Jesus that He is Truth...He is the Light...He is the Way of Life...Jesus said that He is Truth...He is also very importantly the Way to God...So following Truth gets us to God and to Heaven...
As we get to know Jesus, the Son of God, we see more that we are in need of His help with our sins...The better we know Him, the better we see our sins...And thus we are given a better understanding when we know that He is True and the Truth; and we are in Him who is True and follows the Truth, in God's Son Jesus Christ...And to know the One True God and His Son is Eternal Life...
