God Is a Jealous God, When it Comes to Idols
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

God is LOVE

Jesus Came to Fulfill the Old Testament Scripture
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
The God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob is offensive to some atheists...Richard Dawkins wrote, “The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”...
I do not believe the Hebrew people felt this way about the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob...They did know He was eternally Almighty and Powerful...As you read through the Bible you never feel that God's people and His believers think anything remotely like this...Moses and wandering through the desert with God's people, we never get from those who were with God and His Presence felt this way...And even Job, who some believe was the first Bible Book to be written, who had one tragedy after another, never get from him that He believes God has these bad traits...Job did question God and wonder why these things were happening to him, but in the end he better understands God, after meeting Him...
I have not read in the Bible that God is proud, unjust, unforgiving, a control freak, vindictive, a bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser, a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, or a capriciously malevolent bully...Nor do I find God unpleasant...I find Him as One worthy of worship and praise...One who gives comfort to those who believe in Him...God is LOVE and the One who created us and lives in us and His LOVE is made complete in us...
If God is LOVE, He cannot be these things above...God sent Jesus to us, partly to show us and tell us more about Him...And Jesus said He came to fulfill the Old Testament Law books and the Prophets writings...Jesus showed us who God is, and teaches about Him...Jesus was always forgiving, and walking around forgiving others...Maybe God is THE God and the One True God, as Jesus says He is...Maybe He is Perfect and has the ability to get angry, and possessive...God is possessive of our worshiping Him and Only Him, and is jealous of any idea that someone would want to worship an idol, when He is the Only One Perfect in the universe to be worshipped and praised...Maybe He is offensive to some unbelievers, because He is the Only True God and the Most Godlike...
