John 14:6
Jesus and Truth
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 17:17
Truth is God's Word
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
John 1:1-14
The Word Becomes Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:15-31
Jesus Promises the Spirit of Truth
15 “If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
22 Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”
23 Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, 31 but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
“Come now; let us leave.
John 16:13
The Spirit of Truth Guides Us to the Truth
13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
John 4:24
Worship God in Spirit and Truth
24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
John 6:68
Jesus Holds the Words of Eternal Life
68 Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
Matthew 24:35
His Eternal Words Will Never Pass Away
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
God is completely surrounded not only by LOVE, but also by Truth...Jesus teaches us that He is Truth...But also He tells us that God's word is the Truth...St. John teaches us that Jesus said that God's Word is Truth...So since Jesus is the Word of God and Jesus was with God in the beginning, that He also is Truth...He is God in the flesh...And Jesus does say that He is Truth...
God sent Jesus to earth to teach us more about God in heaven...Jesus teaches us about God, and what is in the mind of God...Jesus is the mirror of God...He reflects God...God is the Truth that Jesus always reflects this Truth...
When Jesus sent us the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit guides us in good times and bad -but is always seeking the Truth, always seeking God and His Son...Jesus, while He was on earth, was always speaking about God...His whole life was focused around God...No one knew or knows God more than His Son, who He has been with from the beginning...Also, no other man (ever on earth) has said something as strange, and yet profound about truth...This Man stood up and said, that He is Truth...That Truth is a Man, and therefore is personal...
The Trinity is all about the Truth...God the Father, is Truth, Jesus the Son, is Truth...The Holy Spirit, also called the Spirit of Truth, is always seeking the Truth, and always guiding us to all the Truth...The Holy Spirit is Truth...Therefore, the Trinity is Truth, Jesus is Truth, the Holy Spirit is Truth, and our Father in heaven is Truth...
These profound things He said and what He did make Him unique...To whom can we compare Him, who is His equal (Isaiah 40:25)...If you believe that He is the Truth, and that Truth would be around until the end of time, then it easier for me to believe that He is Truth...After all, I still read my Bible everyday, and there is no one you can compare Him to...Where else can one go, He holds the very words to eternal life...He is the Holy One of God, as St. Peter says...And His eternal words will never pass away...
