1 John 4:8
God is LOVE
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
John 10:7-13
Abundant Life
7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
Matthew 6:25-34
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
John 1:1-14
In the Beginning was The Word
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 14:6
Jesus is Truth
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Our God is a God of all Comfort
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
John 17:3
Eternal Life is Knowing God, and Believing in the One He Sent
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
There are atheist billboards going up around the nation and they say things like "Don't Believe in God, You Are Not Alone", "Are You Good Without God, Millions Are", "There's Probably No God, so Stop Worrying and Start Living", and "In Reason We Trust"...There are others...These three signs seem to say that there are many atheists in America, and that millions can be good without God, since there is a God we worry (so we should all just stop worrying), and that we should trust our reasoning as the truth...The signs seem to imply that life as a believer has an element of fantasy to his beliefs...And maybe these signs for the atheist they may bring a unity with other non-believers...Maybe they feel they are united and together as these signs are put up...As their sign says millions are without God...Maybe that being united in a fellowship with others is comforting to them...But why do they want to be united, and united with these other people?...
The vast majority of men and women since the beginning of mankind have believed in God...That in itself does not make God exist, but where did the idea of God originate?...One might reason that more than one man had some proof and reason to believe in our LORD thousands of years ago...The Bible has many different authors, and many types of people that believe in God...
Jesus, Himself tells us not to worry...Each day we will find enough trouble in it and each day will have its own challenges...We are first to seek the Kingdom of God, and have and ask God to help us with our daily needs...Jesus wants us to believe and trust in God...Is this reasonable to believe?...He wants to give us an abundant life, and life after death, an eternal life...
When one says they believe in reason or in reason they trust, I am not exactly sure what that means...Where did reason come from?...When I say in God I Trust, I know that Jesus is Truth, and it is in His Truth that I Trust...I believe, most people believe in things because they are true...Was this reasoning that they got, here in the beginning of time -and is that why in reason they trust?...I personally think in the beginning there was Truth, and God and Jesus both existed...Believer's believe that Truth has always existed, and existed before man's reasoning powers...Did man just evolve into and with a reasoning power?...When man learned to reason, was it an evolutionary grand miracle...One day when man was evolving from an ape with no reasoning powers to one that had reasoning powers should be a special day for evolutionists...It is almost like a day of freedom...Maybe similar to the Hebrew's exodus from Egypt...The believer believes man has always had reasoning power, and it is in God's Plan that He is over the other animals and the other creatures...After all, from a believer's point of view, man did not create the universe -God did...
From the non-believer's point of view reason has not always been here...Reason has evolved from our one-celled beings to a time when the brain finally evolved into a reasoning functioning organ, according to the non-believer...How can we trust in our reasoning powers if it came out of nothing and pure chance?...
God is the One who gives us free choice and free will and reasoning...And God is LOVE...This is True for the believer and non-believer...One not believing in God, cannot make God any less for the believer...Just as one believing in God, cannot make one believe even more in God ...Or can it?...LOVE is not controlling and lets one choose and make their own decisions...Otherwise it is not LOVE...The non-believer (in my opinion) seems to think that many people need a crutch or help or something to help them get through life...We need a Comforter...God is the Father of all Comfort...The non-believer does not see God as Truth...They do not see Him as LOVE...They do not believe that Jesus stood up and said He was Truth years ago...They do not believe Jesus came from Another World to teach us the eternities about His Father and Heaven...Jesus wants us to have a full life on earth, but He teaches us that a full life includes God in the center of our lives...There is abundance now for those who believe...Faith in God is part of an abundant life...Faith is not a source of worry or conflict, but a sign of Great Hope and Great Comfort...There is a purpose in our earthly lives, and there is an eternity...Having faith and believing that God and His Son are Truth and LOVE is not an unhappy, and an unreasonable life...It is an earthly life filled with Truth and LOVE...And the believer has the next life to look forward to as Jesus teaches...The non-believer does not...
