John 18:28-40
Jesus Before Pilate
28Then the Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. 29So Pilate came out to them and asked, "What charges are you bringing against this man?"
30"If he were not a criminal," they replied, "we would not have handed him over to you."
31Pilate said, "Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law."
"But we have no right to execute anyone," the Jews objected. 32This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die would be fulfilled.
33Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"
34"Is that your own idea," Jesus asked, "or did others talk to you about me?"
35"Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied. "It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?"
36Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
37"You are a king, then!" said Pilate.
Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
38"What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him. 39But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release 'the king of the Jews'?"
40They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!" Now Barabbas had taken part in a rebellion.
Pilate years ago had Jesus on trial...And while He was on trial, Pilate ask Jesus what is Truth...Below are some of the answers to what is Truth...
God is LOVE and LOVE, all love rejoices in the Truth...LOVE does not rejoice in evil, but rejoices in Truth...All God’s Words are Truth and He guides us into His Truth, for He is God our Savior and our hopes lie in Him in all of our days...God delights in people who are Trustworthy and speak the Truth...God is near to all those who call on Him in Truth...Jesus tells us that we are sanctified by God’s Truth, and God’s Word is Truth...
God's Son is Jesus...When God sent Jesus to earth He gave birth to the Words of Truth, that those listening to Him might be a kind of firstfruits of all that He has created...Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and a Way of Life...No one comes to God except through Jesus...Mankind sins, and if we say we do not sin, then the Truth is not within us...If we truly follow Jesus then the words we say are the Truth...We are created in the Image of God, and whoever knows God listens to Him and His Son; but whoever does not follow the Father and His Son does not listen to Scripture and thus this is how we recognize the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of things not true...We know that our Father sent His Son to dwell among us in Grace and Truth, for the law was given to Moses, but Grace and Truth comes through Jesus...Jesus’ Disciples saw Jesus as the Word of God and the that He would make His dwelling among us, so He might teach and we might learn from Him the Truth...And the Disciples saw His glory the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from God who was full of Grace and Truth...
When one reads the gospel, one hears the message of Truth and LOVE...Our Father is Spirit and we must worship Him in Spirit and Truth...And when the Spirit of Truth of God comes, He will guide us into all Truth...When we know the Truth, and the Truth shall set us free...If we hold to the teachings of Jesus, then we are His followers and we will know the Truth and the Truth of Jesus will set us free...As we live out our lives we must not be ashamed to acknowledge the Truth, or Jesus as Truth, and we want to correctly follow the Way of the Truth...So let us stand firm in His Truth that is buckled around our waist and live a life of Truth, and remember God's Word is Truth...
Jesus' LOVE is linked to His Truth and His teachings...The Two Greatest Commandments are to love God and to love neighbor...If we keep Jesus' commands, we will remain in His LOVE and in His Truth, just as He kept His Father’s commands and and remains in His Father's LOVE today...Jesus taught us these things so that His joy might be in us and that our joy may be complete...So, let us learn to love one another from not our words and what we say, but by our actions and our deeds to note that we have learned from the Truth...
Jesus' teachings, actions, and words are major things of Truth...
