John 8:42-47
Jesus Asks the Pharisees to Tell Him When He Has Sinned
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47 Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
John 17:17
God's Word is Truth
17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
John 18:37-38
Jesus Came to Earth to Testify to the Truth
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate.
John 21:17
Jesus Knows All Things
17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
Jesus is free of sins...The Pharisees could not prove Him guilty of any sin...And He said He is Truth and spoke the Truth, yet many could not or would not believe Him...And that He came to earth to testify to the Truth...And I believe, if you believe these and His other statements, that this makes Him Perfect...So, He must have been a confident Man walking around discussing ideas and issues of God when He dwelt on earth...To Teach with a burden of Perfection would be troubling for most men is different ways, but I do not think we can fairly call Jesus - just a Man...And when He spoke of Truth and testified about Truth, He knew and said that God's Word is Truth...And to add to this, Jesus also was the Wisest Man to walk the earth...
To be Perfect in conversation and knowledge and to comprehend all things is power...And in Jesus' case it is Divinity...And just because His knowledge of all things gave Him Great Power to do many Great Things...Yet His LOVE of all things, especially men and women is less like power in the sense that unconditional LOVE is completely unselfish and self-giving...And in His LOVE for us, we find a Great Humbleness that surrounds Him...You never feel in the Gospels that Jesus was was arrogant...As He is One, and maybe the Only One who can balance Complete Understanding with the power that comes with that, but can show His Great Humbleness through LOVE, without any arrogance or surrounding pride...
