John 18:12-14
Jesus Taken to Annas
12Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They bound him 13and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year. 14Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it would be good if one man died for the people.
Those arresting Jesus takes Him to the high priest...Jewish officials were a part of the arresting crowd...The Roman soldiers were the ones who made the actual arrest...The Jewish officials were the ones who would give the reasons for Jesus' arrest...Caiaphas, the high priest, figured it would be good if One Man died for the people...The high priest mind had already judged Him...
