Jesus Came to Earth So That We Might Have an Abundant Life
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Paul on a Contented Life
10 I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
John 17:3
Now This is Eternal Life
3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
The meaning of an Abundant Life is probably a little or lot different for everyone...But as I read the gospel, this is what I think...
Thieves come into people's lives and try to steal, and to kill, and to destroy and make our lives lessor...But Jesus has come to earth and into people's lives so that we may have life, and that we may have it more abundantly... When we see God better and have faith in Him and His Son, I think we see our lives better and we better live our lives...As Jesus says He came to give us this Abundant Life which refers to believing in Him...When we do we are mostly fulfilled and contented...We will have less void and emptiness in our lives and we will feel less alone when God and His Son are with and near us, and we believe that they are...
This Abundant Life makes our lives more meaningful and purposeful...It does not necessarily mean wealth and more material things, because Jesus had no money to speak of, yet He led an Abundant Life...Abundant Life is more than life on this earth but also eternal life...And this is eternal life, that we know the One True God and the One He sent...For me it is as St. Paul discovered...And Abundant Life is learning to be content with whatever circumstances we happen to be in...An abundantly lived life with Jesus as your Master and Teacher, leads one to God and Heaven...
