John 17:13-19
God's Word is Truth
13 “I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
The statement God is truth and God's Word is Truth speaks of God’s Morality...Truth come from God and His nature...Everything that God says and does is the Entire and the Complete Truth...To me, to day God is Truth and God's Word is Truth are the same and will be used as similar statements throughout this commentary...So God's Perfect Moral attribute give us our Basis of Absolute Truth...We take full measure of God's joy in His Truths...So everything about God and is written is His Word gives us our Absolute Truth...So not only do we learn about God's Morality through Truth, we learn something of our morality, when learn something about our morality, through our rationalization to get to our truth, and the way we might not give someone the complete truth (which might something then a falsehood), or a way we might exaggerate to express a truth, or conjure up a conspiracy theory about a topic to try to get someone to believe in something that is not true...
The Truth is only as reliable as the one who speaks or writes it...God is Completely Reliable...God is Perfect...God is Unchanging, so His Truths are Universal, Never Changing Truths that can always be relied upon...So when we read Scripture telling us that I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and it is impossible for God to lie, and that His Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth we further can believe in this foundation of Truth as believers...And Scripture tells us that the entirety of Your Word is Truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever...Every Word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him...Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar...Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed...And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free."...
Everything about God is Absolute Truth because it is the very essence of His nature......So God cannot lie, it is impossible for Him to lie...Therefore, we can believe in His promises because He will always tell the Truth...Since it is impossible for God to lie, and therefore He is no liar...So everything that He inspired the authors to write in the Bible is Truth, which means God's Word is Truth...When one has a question about is this or that Truth, it is best to read Scripture on the subject (if it is available on the subject) and to believe that the Scripture is your best source for the Truth...If you find no Scripture on it, one must use their best Spiritual and Heartfelt judgement on the topic to believe if something is True or not...But since God is Truth and the One and Only Thing that is True it is best to search diligently through the Scriptures for your Truthful answers...So to say that God is Truth and God's Word is Truth show us the nature of God...Only God can be Complete Truth...Since the statement God is Truth is based on His Complete and Perfect Morality, we can believe that Only God can be the Complete Truth...
Let us believe the LORD and all His infinite numbers of Truth...Faith is our indispensable belief and requirement to believe all His Truth... Always ask yourself if you sincerely trust Him to fulfill His Truth... Doubt sometimes gets in the way of His Truths, so ask Him through prayer to help us overcome this...Help me overcome my unbelief, because I know the Truth will set me free...
LOVE and Truth are so closely related...In heaven, LOVE and Truth may be one and the same or close to being the same...God is LOVE and His LOVE shows us the Truth...God's Truth are our best Way to to the Truth, the Way, and the Abundant Life...God's Truth of His Son dying on the cross, shows His LOVE for us...For God so LOVES the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have Eternal Life...For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him, with His Grace, His Truth, and His LOVE for us...Let us be sanctified by God's Truth; because His Word is Truth...
