Jesus 14:1-7
Jesus Comforts His Disciples
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
John 18:28-39
Jesus Came to this World to Testify to the Truth
28 Then the Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover. 29 So Pilate came out to them and asked, “What charges are you bringing against this man?”
30 “If he were not a criminal,” they replied, “we would not have handed him over to you.”
31 Pilate said, “Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law.”
“But we have no right to execute anyone,” the Jews objected. 32 This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die would be fulfilled.
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him. 39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?"
Matthew 7:28-29
Jesus Taught As One Who Had Authority
28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
John 17:1-5
Jesus Prays to Be Glorified
1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
We believe in things because they are true...So what we believe in are things that we think are true...
There was once a Man who said He was the Truth and that the reason that He came into this world was to testify to the Truth...I have never read or heard any other man say that they were the Truth or came into this world to testify to the Truth...He thought and said that God had granted Him authority over all people that He might give us eternal life...So if we seek Truth then let us look at what this Man said and a few things at what He said and did...
Why would a Man say to someone believe in God and believe also in Me...Why would they say in my Father’s house there are many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you so...So I AM going there to prepare a place for you?...And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I AM...You know the way to the place where I am going...Why would they also so no one gets to God, except through Me?...Why would a Man say, if you really know Me, you will know God as well?...And then add from now on, you do know God and have seen Him...
There is such a thing as Absolute Truth...And Absolute Truth is a Person...Reason and logic can help us start to find this Absolute Truth...But Absolute Truth is more than something of the mind...The mind uses thoughts and reason and logic to find the truth...But Absolute Truth is more than a personal truth we have...So we must not only use our mind but also our soul and our hearts to find this Absolute Truth...The heart and soul are the center of our Spiritual Being...So we need the mind, the heart, and the soul to find the Absolute Truth...
Absolute Truth begets Complete Understanding, and thus we can better understand miracles and some of the claims Absolute Truth made during His Life...Absolute Truth has a Grand Authority surrounding Him that is given Him by His Father...This Grand Authority makes the Absolute Truth Divine and One that can give you eternal life...The One wo said He is Truth believes in Eternal Life...
