John 17:12
Judas is Doomed
12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
Matthew 27:5-8
Judas Returns His Betrayal Money
5 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
6 The chief priests picked up the coins and said, “It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.” 7 So they decided to use the money to buy the potter’s field as a burial place for foreigners. 8 That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day.
1 John 1:9
Confess Your Sins and God Will Forgive
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
I think often about if Judas was forgiven by Jesus...After all He teaches us much on forgiveness...But in one of His final prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane, He prays and tells us that Judas has been lost and he is doomed to destruction so that the Scripture could be and would be fulfilled...I do not think at that point Judas was forgiven, but I do not know...
God controls both good and evil, and can He can and does use evil as part of His Plan, like He did with Judas...No doubt God is saddened by Judas' choices...And Judas must not have confessed to God His sins and ask for forgiveness (even though he felt guilty about the thirty pieces of silver he returned to the priests), because God is a forgiving God...
