Romans 6:1-14
No Longer Slaves to Sin Because of Jesus
1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14 For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.
John 17:3
This is Eternal Life
3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Luke 21:33
Jesus Words and Teachings Will Never Pass Away
33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
We had Moses' Law first and then Jesus came and fulfilled the Mosaic Law and taught us more about God and Himself...Jesus said His words and teachings will not pass...His words and teachings are timeless...They continue on today...
His Words and teachings are a part of the Christian life...His Words help give us belief and faith in Him and His Father...When Jesus died we no longer were slaves to sin, because His death freed us from our sins, if we believe in God and Him...Together They give us eternal life...Let us know the One True God, and the One that He sent...And with God sending us a Savior, named Christ our LORD, we are saved and can have eternal life with Jesus and His Father...Jesus makes us no longer a slave to our different sins...
Author and Philosopher Criss Jami writes, "Christ is our Friend; He is also the Righteous King...God is our Father; He is also the Sovereign Lord...Christianity can be said to be both a religion and a relationship...You may often hear the cliché that it is not a religion, but a relationship only - which, I believe, is a bit too vague a statement - 'religion' has long had different meanings and implications depending on who you ask or where you are coming from...Honestly, it is sometimes the case that Christians like to think they are too cool and free and up-close and personal with God to be like other religions...Perhaps that could be argued, that could be the case, as it is written thus: 'You are no longer a slave to sin, but God's child.'...So we might very well assert that Christianity is not at all some stale philosophy centered around legalistic guilt and empty rule-keeping, as the modernists so commonly define religion; although by other definitions we might as well be boasting that it is 'The Religion' simply by claiming that it is too real and too special to be deemed 'just another religion'."...
