Distributional Range: Native Europe SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE: Greece (Crete).
Habitats and populations: Viola fragrans is a high altitude (1600-2450m) endemism of Crete. This rare flower can be found flowering from May to July in rocky places and scree. It often grows through other (often spiny) plants where it's very thin stem can be supported. The flowers can be white, yellow or violet. It can be found in Dikti , Idi (Psiloritis), Levka Ori (White Mountains), White Mountains (Ammoutsera valley), Mount Gigilos.
