Distributional Range: Native Southern America SOUTHERN SOUTH AMERICA: Chile [Región Metropolitana de Santiago; VI - O'Higgins; VII - Maule]. Argentina [Mendoza]
Description and Ecology :Perennial plant, with creeping stems. Small rosette leaves, spatulated, reticulated-wrinkled on top, eyelashes on the margins. Flowers with hirsute sepals and uneven petals with each other, pink or lilac. It grows in the Andean mountain range. It blooms between December and January. Reiche has also described Viola philippii var. arbuscula, whose difference lies in the upright position of the stems and in the white petals with purple center. (2500 - 4000 m)
