Distributional Range: Native Europe SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE: Albania, Former Yugoslavia, Greece
Description: Viola aetolica Boiss. & Heldr. 1859, is a widespread Balkan species in Greece, except the islands. It was described by the mountains of Aetolia.
Habitat: meadows, ravines, pastures. subalpine positions at altitudes of 1200-2000 m.
