Description: Grassy stemless perennial 3.5-16 cm tall. Leaves are up to 4.5 cm long and up to 3 cm wide, ovate or almost triangular, rounded at the base or usually with a rather deep notch, rather large or small along the edge, but clearly jagged, dentate, or rough. Stipules are whitish, leathery, ovate-lanceolate, acute, whole-edge or with rare cilia, up to half or slightly more intergrown with petiole. Flowers up to 2 cm long, purple, fragrant, on pedicels up to 15 cm long, bearing narrow linear-lanceolate bracts approximately in the middle. Sepals 4-7 mm long, with blunt, slightly serrated appendages. Petals elongated, obovate, lateral bearded, lower b. m long spur 3-7 mm long, tubular or somewhat widened at the apex, obtuse and somewhat curved. Capsule 7-12 mm long, ovoid or oblong, obtuse, glabrous. Seeds are bright purple red.
Distributional Range: Native Asia-Temperate WESTERN ASIA: Iran [Gīlān] CAUCASUS: Azerbaijan, Russian Federation [Checheno-Ingushetia, Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria, arachay-Cherkessia, Krasnodar, North Ossetia]
Habitat: grows in meadows, forest edges, glades, on rocks and rocky placers, in forest and subalpine zones . Altitude limits up to 1000-1200 m
