Every soul must be subject to governing authorities. For there is not an authority, if not under God; then, the existing ones are ordained by God.
So, yes, the person opposing the authority has opposed the ordinance of the God. Then, they having opposed will receive judgement on themselves.
For the rulers are not dread to the good work but to the bad. Then, do you want to not fear the authority? Do the good, and you will have high praise from the same.
For he is God's servant for the good. Yet if you would do what is bad, fear! For not in vain does he bear the sword. For he is God's servant, an exacter of justice for* wrath toward the person practising what is bad.
Due to which, necessity it is to be subject, not only due to the wrath, but also due to the conscience.
Due to this, you also complete payment of taxes. For they are public functionaries of God, persisting steadfastly for this task itself.
Recompense to all the dues: the tax to whom the tax is due, the completion of payment to whom the completion of payment is due, the dread to whom the dread is due, the honour to whom the honour is due.
To no one owe anything if not the love of one another, for the person loving the other has fulfilled the Law.
For the word, you will not commit adultery, you will not murder, you will not steal,* you will not covet, and, if you wonder, any other commandment, they are headed up by the word, this one: you will love the neighbour of yours as yourself.
Badness is not done by the love of the neighbour. Therefore, law's fulfilment is the love.
And knowing the time that this is, that already your hour to be raised from sleep is passed.* Indeed, now the salvation of ours is nearer than when we first believed.
The night has cut forward, and the day has neared. So we should put away the works of the darkness, and we should put on the armour of the light.
We should walk with dignity, as in day, not in revelries and intoxications, not in beds and licentious deeds, not in strifes and rivalry.
Instead, be endued in the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not make forethought for the flesh, unto yearnings.
