Matthew 11

1 And it happened, when the Iesous had completed commissioning the twelve disciples of His, He withdrew from there, to teach and to proclaim in the towns of theirs.

2 Yet the Ioannes, having heard in the prison of the works of the Christ and sent two of the disciples of his,

3 said to Him, "You are He who is coming, or we anticipate an other?"

4 And answering, the Iesous said to them, "Having gone, report to Ioannes what you hear and see.

5 Blind people look up, and lame walk, lepers are cleansed and deaf people hear, even dead people are raised and poor people receive good news.

6 And blessed is whoever be not offended by Me ."

7 Now, as these were going, the Iesous began to speak to the crowds about Ioannes. "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed being shaken by wind?

8 What instead did you go out to see? A human being enwrapped in soft things? Look! The people wearing the soft things are in the residences of the kings.

9 Instead, what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more exceeding a prophet.

10 This* is the one of whom it is written, Look! I myself send the messenger of Mine before your face, who will fully prepare the way of yours in front of you.

11 Amen I say to you: among them born of women, greater than Ioannes the Baptist has not arisen, yet the least in the Kingdom of the Heavens is greater than he.

12 Now, from the days of Ioannes the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of the Heavens is constrained, and constrainers plunder it.

13 Indeed, all the prophets and the Law, until Ioannes, prophesied.

14 And if you want to receive*, he is Elias, the one going to come.

15 The person having ears* must hear!

16 Yet, to what will I liken the generation, this generation? It is like little children sitting in the plazas, who, calling out to the others,

17 say, 'We played pipes for you and you danced not. We sang dirges* and you did not beat yourselves in mourning.'

18 For Ioannes came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'

19 The son of the human came, eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look! A human, a glutton and a wine-toter, a friend of invaders' toll-collectors and sinners!' And, 'The wisdom is justified by the works of it!'"

20 Then He began to rebuke the towns in which the most of His miracles had happened, because they did not repent.

21 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! Because if in Tyre and Sidon had happened the miracles that happened among you, of old* would they in rough cloth and ash have repented.

22 But I say to you: to Tyre and Sidon will it be more endurable on judgement's day than to you.

23 And you, Kapharnaum: not as far as Heaven will you be uplifted. As far as Hades will you be brought down. Because if in Sodom happened the miracles that happened among you, it would have remained until the present day.

24 But I say to you that to the land of Sodom it will be more endurable on judgement's day than to you."

25 In the timing, that timing, the Iesous, explaining, said, "Speaking out I confess to You, Father, Lord of the Heaven and the Earth, that You concealed these things from wise people and intelligent people, and revealed them to children.

26 Yes, the Father did so, because thusly was it pleasing before You.

27 All was given to Me by the Father of Mine.* Not even one correctly knows the Son if not the Father reveals it, nor does anyone correctly know the Father if not the Son reveals it, even to whom the Son would wish to reveal it.

28 Hither before Me, all the toiling ones and laden ones! And I will rest you.

29 Raise the yoke of Mine upon you, and learn from Me*, because* I am meek and humble in the heart, and you will find rest in* the souls of yours.*

30 For the yoke of Mine is easy,* and the load of Mine is light."
