1 Then come to Iesous from Ierosoluma pharisaioi and scribesα saying,
2 "Due to what do the disciples of Yours trespass the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash the hands of theirsα when they eat bread."
3 Yet He, answering, said to them, "Due to what do you trespass evenα the commandment of the God through the tradition of yours?
4 For the God said, 'Honour the father and the mother'α and 'The [one] cursingβ father or mother be ended by death.'
5 Yet you say, 'Who perhaps would say to father or to mother, "[A] giftα [is] what you perhaps might be profitedβ [by] from me,"
6 alsoα may not honour the father of his orβ the mother of his.γ'' You even uncrownδ the wordε of the God through the tradition of yours.
7 Hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy about you, saying,
8 'The people, this [people], honour Me with the lips, yet the heart of theirs keeps far off away from Me.
9 Yet in vain do they piety to Me, teaching as teachings humans' commandments.'"
10 And having summoned the crowd, He said to them, "Hear and comprehend!
11 Not the [thing] entering into the mouth defilesα the human, but the [thing] going out from the mouth, this defiles the human.
