And having called forward the twelve disciples of His, He gave to them authority over unclean spirits so as to cast them out and to heal every sickness and every infirmity.
Now, of the twelve apostles the names are these: first, Simon the one called Petros, and Andreas the brother of his, and Iakobos the son of the Zebedaios, and Ioannes the brother of his,
Philippos and Bartholomaios, Thomas and Maththaios the tax-collector, Iakobos the son of the Alphaois, and Thaddaios,
Simon the Cananean*, and Ioudas the Iscariot* and the betrayer of Him.
These the twelve the Iesous sent, having adjured them, saying, "Into a road of the ungodly nations do not go away, and into a town of the Samaritans do not enter!
Yet go rather to the sheep, the lost ones, of Israel's house.
Yet going, proclaim, saying that the Kingdom of the Heavens is near!
Ailing people heal! Dead people raise! Leprous people cleanse! Demons cast out! As a gift you have received; as a gift give!
Do not acquire gold, nor silver, nor copper in the belts of yours,
no bag in the way, nor two tunics, nor shoes, nor rod, for the worker is worthy of the provision of his.
Now, in whatever town or village you would enter, check out who in it is worthy, and there remain until you would depart.
Now, entering into the household, salute it.*
And if, on the one hand, the household be worthy, the peace of yours must come upon it; yet if, on the other hand, it not be worthy, the peace of yours must be turned about to you.
And would anyone not receive you nor hear the words of yours, departing out of the house or the town, that house or town, shake out the dust from the feet of yours.
Truly I say to you, more endurable will it be to Sodom's and Gomorra's land in judgement's day than to the town, that town.
Look! I send you like sheep in wolves' midst. Be therefore shrewd like the snakes and innocent like the doves.
Have aforethought for the human beings, for they will hand you over to assemblies* and in the synagogues* of theirs they will scourge you.
And in front of governors, however, and kings you will be brought because of Me, unto testimony to them and to the ungodly nations.
Yet when they would hand you over, do not worry how or what you would say, for it will be given to you in the hour, that hour, what you should say.
For not you are the speakers but the Spirit of the Father of yours, It speaking in You.
Yet sibling will hand over sibling to death, and father child, and children will stand up upon parents and put them to death,
and you will be hated by all due to the name of Mine. Yet he having abided under it to completion, this one will be saved.
Yet when they would persecute you in the town, this town, refuge in the next. Truly I say to you, no you would not have completed the towns of Israel before the Son of the Human Being would come.
A disciple is not above the teacher of his, nor a bondservant the lord of his.
Sufficient it is for the disciple that he become as the teacher of his, and the bondservant as the lord of his. If they have named the head of the household 'Beelzeboul', how much more the members of his household?
So do not fear them. Indeed, nothing is covered that will not be uncovered, and hidden that will not be known.
What I say to you in the dark speak in the light, and what you hear in the ear proclaim upon the housetops.
And fear not from them killing the body yet not being able to kill the soul. Yet, fear rather Him being able to destroy both soul and body in Ge'ena.*
Are not indeed two little sparrows sold for an assarius*? Even one of them will not fall onto the ground apart from the Father of yours.
Of you, however, the hairs of the head, all, are counted.
So fear not. You surpass many little sparrows.
So everyone, whoever will agree with Me in front of the human beings, also I will agree with him in front of the Father of Mine who is in the Heavens.
Yet whoever would deny Me in front of human beings, him will also I deny in front of the Father of Mine who is in the Heavens.
Do not normalise that I came to cast peace upon the land. I came not to cast peace but a sword.
Indeed, I came to divide human from the father of his, and daughter from the mother of hers, and bride from the mother-in-law of hers.
Even enemies of the human being will be the members of the household of his.
He loving father or mother above Me is not worthy of Me, and he loving son or daughter above Me is not worthy of Me.
And whoever does not take up the cross* of his and follow behind Me is not worthy of Me.
He finding the life* of his will lose it, and he having lost the life* of his because of Me will find it.
He receiving you receives Me, and he receiving Me receives Him who sent Me.
He receiving prophet in prophet's name will receive prophet's reward. And he receiving righteous person in righteous person's name will receive righteous person's reward.
And whoever would give a cup of cold water to drink, to one of the little, these, only in disciple's name, no he will not lose the reward of his."
