1 Yet*, on the day, that day, having gone out of* the house, the Iesoûs was sitting beside the sea*.
2 And multitudinous crowds came together to* Him, as much as for Him to sit down having stepped into a boat. And all the crowd were positioned on the shore.
3 And He spoke to them very much* in parables, saying, "See! The person sowing went out for the purpose to sow.
4 And in the process of him to sow, while some seeds fell beside the way, and the birds* having come ate them up,
5 yet others fell on the rocky places where they had not much earth, and immediately they sprang up due to not having depth of earth.
6 Yet the sun having gone up, they were scorched, and due to not having root* they were dried out.
7 Yet others fell on the thorns. And the thorns stepped up and strangled them.
8 Yet others fell on the earth that is good. And they gave fruit: while some of which were 100, yet some of which were 60; yet some of which were 30.
9 The person having ears*—hear!"
10 And having come to Him, the disciples said to Him, "Due to what do you speak to them in parables?"
11 Yet He, answering, said to them*, "Because to you it is granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of the Heavens. Yet to those people it is not granted.
12 For whoever has—to him it will be granted. And it* will be made to overflow.* Yet whoever does not have—even what he has will be lifted from him.
13 Due to this I speak to them in parables. Because seeing, they do not see; and hearing, they do not hear; nor do they put things together.
14 And with them it is filled up—the prophecy of Esaías, the prophecy having said: 'By hearing you will hear and—no—you may not put things together! Even* seeing you will see, and—no—you may not perceive*!
15 For the heart of the people, this people, has been thickened, and with the ears they heard with burden, and the eyes of theirs they have closed, lest ever they would perceive with the eyes and by the ears hear and by the heart put things together, and they would turn around and I will heal them.
16 Yet blessed are the eyes of yours, because they see, and the ears of yours, because they hear.
17 Amen! For I say to you that many prophets and righteous ones desired intensely to perceive the things you see, and they did not perceive, and to hear the things that you hear, and they did not hear.
18 So hear, you, the parable of the one sowing.
19 When anyone is hearing the word* of the Kingdom and not putting it together, the evil one comes and plunders the thing sown in the heart of his. This is the one having been sown beside the way.
20 Yet the one having been sown on the rocky places: this is the one hearing the word and directly with joy receiving it.
21 Yet he does not have a root in* himself. Instead, he is temporary. Yet when pressure or persecution has come due to the Word, directly he is ensnared.
22 Yet the one having been sown in the thorns: this is the one hearing the Word, and the care of the aeon—this aeon—and* the trick of wealth—he* smothers the Word and he becomes unfruitful.
23 Yet the one having been sown on the good earth, this is the one hearing the Word and putting it together,* who indeed* bears fruit, and he makes—while the seed of one of which into a hundred, yet the seed of another of which into sixty, yet the seed of another of which into thirty."*
24 Another parable He set beside them, saying, "The Kingdom of the Heavens was* made like a human being having sown in the field of his.
25 Yet in the time of the human beings to sleep, the enemy of his came and sowed on zizánions* up amidst the grain and went away.
26 Yet when the grass sprouted and made fruit, then also the zizánions were brought to light.
27 Yet the bond-servants of the head of the household, having come to him, said to him, 'Lord, good seed did you not sow in the field of yours? So from where does it have zizánions*?
28 Yet the head of the household said to them, 'An enemy, a human, did this.' Yet the bond-servants say to him, 'So do you want that we, having gone off, gather them?'
29 Yet the head of the household says, 'No, lest gathering the zizánions you uproot samewise the grain with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest. And in the reaping's time, I will say to the reapers, "Gather first the zizánions and bind them into bundles, toward the goal of them to be burned up. Yet the grain gather into the magazine of mine."'"
31 Another parable He set beside them, saying, "The kingdom of the heavens is like a kernel of mustard that a human sowed in the field of his,
32 which, though it is smaller among all the seeds, yet when it would have grown, is greater among the dug edible plants, and becomes a tree, as for the birds of the heaven to come and to make homes among the branches of it."
33 Another parable He spoke* to them.*
“The kingdom of the heavens is like fermented dough* that a woman, having received* it, innerly hid* in three sata* of grain meal until the whole was leavened.”
34 All these things did the Iesoûs speak by parables to the crowds. And without a parable not one thing did He speak to them,
35 which is how is fulfilled the utterance through the prophet*,
“I will open in parables the mouth of mine,
I will erupt* things hidden from the striking down*.”*
36 Then, having loosed the crowds, He* came into the residence*. And they came to him, the disciples of His, saying, “Thoroughly clarify for us the parable of the zizánions of the field.”
37 And He, answering, said, “The one sowing the good seed is the Son of Humanity.*
38 And the field is the cosmos.* And the good seed? These are the sons of the kingdom. And the zizánions are the sons of the evil one.
39 And the enemy who sowed them is the Devil.* And the harvest is the aeon's final end*. And the harvesters are angels.
40 So, exactly as the zizánions are gathered together and in a fire burned up, in this way it will be in the final end of the aeon.
41 The Son of Humanity will send the angels of His, and they will collect out of the kingdom of His all the snares* and them doing the lawlessness.*
42 And they will cast them into the kiln of the fire. There will be there the crying, and the gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of the Father of theirs. The one having ears,* hear!
44 The kingdom of the heavens is like treasure hidden in the field, that a human, having found it, hid. And from the joy of his, he goes under* and sells all, whatsoever things he has, and buys the field, that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like a human,* a merchant, seeking good pearls.
46 And having found one much honoured pearl, he, having gone away, sold all, whatever things he had, and he purchased it.
47 Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like a drag net having been cast into the sea and having gathered together out of all species.
48 When it be filled, they, bringing it up on the seashore, and sitting, collect the good into containers. Yet they cast away the unfit.
49 In this way will it be at the final ending of the aeon. The angels will go out. And they will separate away the evil ones from the righteous ones' midst.
50 And they will cast them into the kiln of the fire. There will be there the crying, and the gnashing of teeth.
51 *Have you comprehended all these things?”
They say to Him, “Yes*.”
52 Yet He said to them, “Due to this, every scribe being discipled by the kingdom of the heavens is like a human, a head of a household, whoever* casts forth from the treasury of his new and old.
53 And it happened, when the Iesoûs ended the parables, those parables, that He lifted up and removed from there.
54 And having gone into the fatherland of His, He taught them in the assembly place* of theirs, as much as for them to be shocked and to say, "From where to this one came the wisdom? This wisdom! And the powers?
55 This one is not the son of the carpenter? The mother of his is not called Mariám? And the brothers of his Iákobos and Ioséph and Símon and Ioúdas?
56 And the sisters of his are not all before us? So from where to this one came all these things?”
57 And they were upset by Him. Yet the Iesoûs said to them, “A prophet is not without honour, except in the fatherland* and in the household of his.”
58 And there He did not do many deeds of powers, due to the unbelief* of theirs.
