1 Yet take heed not to do the righteousness of yours in front of people to be beheld by them. Yet if you do not so do, you have not reward from the Father of yours who is in the Heavens.
2 Therefore, when you do charity, do not give a signal in front of you, like indeed the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, by which they would be glorified by people. Amen! I say to you: They have received the reward of theirs.
3 Yet of your doing charity, the left hand of yours must not know what the right hand of yours is doing,
4 by which the charity of yours should be in concealment, and the Father of yours, who is observing in concealment, will reward you.
5 And whenever you would pray, be not like the hypocrites, because they love to be standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the boulevards to pray, by which they should shine to people. Amen! I say to you: They have received the reward of theirs.
6 Yet whenever you pray, go into the chamber of yours and having shut the door of yours, pray to the Father of yours who is in concealment, and the Father of yours who is observing in concealment will reward you.
7 Yet praying, speak not babblingly, like indeed the ungodly peoples*, for they deem that by the many words of theirs they will be listened to.
8 Therefore, do not imitate them, for the Father of yours knows of what things you have need before your asking of Him.
9 Thusly, therefore, pray you:
Father of ours—who is in the heavens—hallowed be the name of Yours!
10 Come—the kingdom of Yours! Be realised—the will of Yours—as in Heaven also on Earth!
11 Grant us the bread for us that is for being* today!
12 And forgive us the debts of ours—as also we forgave the debtors of ours!
13 And bring us not into trial! but rescue us from the evil!
14 For if you forgive people the transgressions of theirs, also the Father of yours, the Heavenly One, will forgive you.
15 Yet if you do not forgive people, then the Father of yours will not forgive you the transgressions of yours.
16 And whenever you fast, become not, like the hypocrites, of sullen look. For they mar the faces of theirs, by which they should shine to people, fasting! Amen! I say to you: They have received the reward of theirs.
17 Yet you, fasting, anoint the head of yours! And wash the face of yours!
18 by which you, fasting, shine not to people, but to the Father of yours, Him in concealment. And the Father of yours, Him observing in concealment, will reward you.
19 Do not treasure to yourselves treasures upon the Earth, where moth and corrosion spoil, and where robbers dig through and rob!
20 Yet treasure to yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor corrosion spoil, and where robbers neither dig through nor rob!
21 For where the treasure of yours is, there also will be the heart of yours.
22 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, if the eye of yours be single*, the whole body of yours will be bright.
23 Yet if the eye of yours be evil, the whole body of yours will be dark. If then the light in you is darkness, how much is the darkness.
24 No one can be slave to two lords. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or be devoted to the one and look down on the other. You cannot be slave to God and to mammon.
25 Due to this I say to you: Do not worry about the life of yours, what you would eat, and nor about the body of yours, what you would wear. Is not the life more than the nourishment and the body more than the garment?
26 Consider the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, yet nor do they reap, yet nor do they gather into a storehouse, and the Father of yours, the heavenly One, feeds them. Do you not more carry through* than they?
27 And who among you who are worrying can add one cubit to the stature of his?
28 And about clothing, why do you worry? Learn of the lilies of the field, how they grow! They toil not, and nor do they spin*.
29 Yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all the glory of his was arrayed as one of them.
30 Yet if the flora of the field, existing today and tomorrow being cast into an oven, the God clothes like this, not much more you? Small-trust ones!
31 Therefore you should not worry, saying, 'What would we eat?' Or, 'What would we drink?' Or, 'What would we wear?'
32 For the ungodly nations* seek all these things intensely! For the Father of yours, the heavenly One, knows that you have need of all these things.
33 Yet seek firstly the Kingdom and the righteousness of His, and all these things will be added to you.
34 Therefore you should not worry about the morrow. Indeed, the morrow will worry of itself. Sufficient for the present day is the badness of it.
