17 And if Father you call upon—the One impartially judging according to the work of each, conduct the time of your pilgrimage in fear,
18 knowing that you were not redeemed by destructible things, by silver or by gold, from your vain conduct of ancestral tradition,
19 but by honourable blood, as of a lamb unblemished and unstained, of Christ,
20 certainly promised before the foundation of the Cosmos, then revealed at the times’ end because of you,
21 the ones faithful through Him to God, the One having raised Him from dead ones and having given Him glory, so that your faith and your hope be in God.
22 Your souls purified by the obedience to the truth, into brotherly love, unhypocritical, from cleansed hearts, love one another strenuously,
23 born again not from destructible seed, but through the indestructible word of living and abiding God,
24 because
All flesh is as grass,
and all its glory as a flower of grass;
The grass withers and the flower falls away,
25 Yet the Word of the Lord abides forever.
And this is the word announced as good news to you.
