Hebrews 6
1 Therefore, leaving the word of the first things of the Christ, let us go forward unto the most complete things, not again laying down a foundation of repentance from dead works, and faith upon God,
2 teaching of baptisms, and laying on of hands, and resurrection of dead, and eternal judgement.
3 And this we will do, if indeed the God allows*.

9 But we are convinced concerning you, beloved, of what are excellent and hold salvation (if even we speak this way),
10 for the God is not unjust, to disregard the work of yours and the love you demonstrated to the name of His, having served the saints, and serving.

v. 3 The Gk verb translated "allows" is ἐπιτρέπω. It is possible that hearers of this letter are to understand that there is a "turning towards" by God that is necessary for a person to go from the basic, first things of the Christ unto the things of completion.
