1 Then, if you find any appeal in Christ*, if any address of love, if any fellowship of spirit, if any affections, even compassions,
2 fill up the joy of mine, so that you are minded the same, having the same love, joined in souls*, minding the one*,
3 and nothing according to self-gain, and nor according to vainglory, but by the lowly-mindedness holding each other as excelling oneself,
4 not each scoping the things of their own, but each scoping also the things of others.
5 Mind this among you, which also was* in Christ Jesus,
6 who, beginning in God's form did not hold as booty the being equal to God,
7 but emptied Himself, taking a bondservant's form, becoming in likeness of human beings and being found in appearance as a human being,
8 He lowered Himself, becoming obedient unto death, death yet of a cross.
9 Due to it, the God highly exalted Him, and granted Him the name that is above every name,
10 so that by the name of Jesus every knee bend, of them heavenly and of them earthly and of them netherwordly,
11 and every tongue confess "Lord Jesus Christ" to glory of God, of Father.
12 And so, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as only in the presence of me, but now much more in the absence of me, with fear and trembling the salvation of yourselves work out!
13 For God is the One energising among you both to will and to energise beyond what is well-judged.
14 Do all things without murmurings and calculations,
15 so that you would become blameless and unalloyed, God's children unblemished amidst a generation crooked and perverted, among whom you shine like lights in the cosmos,
16 holding onto life's word, unto praise for me in Christ's day, that I ran not in vain and neither did I toil in vain.
17 Yes, even if I am being poured on the sacrifice and service for the faith of yours, I rejoice and rejoice together with all of you.
18 So the same: Rejoice also you! And rejoice together with me!
19 So I hope, by the Lord Jesus, to send Timothy to you soon, so that also I be cheered in soul, with knowing the things concerning you.
20 Indeed, I have no one equal in soul, anyone who by origin will concern himself with the things concerning you.
21 Indeed, all people seek the things of themselves (not the things of Jesus Christ)!
22 Yet the worth of him you know, because, like child for father, together with me he slaved unto the good news.
23 So while I hope to send this one immediately when I have in view the things regarding me,
24 yet I trust by Lord that also I will come quickly.
25 Yet I held necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, the brother, even co-worker, even co-soldier for me (yet for you apostle), even minister of the service of mine,
26 since indeed he was exceedingly missing all of you, even dismayed due to this: that you heard he was ill.
27 And indeed he was ill nearly to death. But the God had mercy on him. Yet not only on him, but me also, so that not sorrow upon sorrow I would have.
28 More speedily, therefore, I sent him, so that, seeing him again, you would rejoice and I more free from pain would be.
29 Receive, therefore, him by Lord with all joy, even the such honours have,
30 that due to the work of Christ unto death he neared, having ventured the life, so that he might fill up the deficit of yours of the ministry to me.
