Notes
v 17 The perfect truthfulness of the Bible is recognised by paying careful attention to what it actually says: in its history of the flood, only "all flesh in which is life's spirit" is promised destruction, that is to say, the descendants of the first humans (Adam and Eve) who received life's spirit. So, not all hominids or homo sapiens everywhere on Earth are included in this promise. Likewise, not all animals on Earth were destroyed in the flood, nor preserved in the flood on the ark (the Bible's testimony can be translated to mean that only the locally domesticated animals were preserved, and not wild animals like lions, snakes, etc.).
