Timothy 2

So I exhort, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made for all people,

for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead an unagitated and quiet life in all piety and solemnity.

For* this is good and acceptable before the saviour of ours, God,

who wants all human beings to be rescued, even to come to truth's knowledge.

For God is one, and one is mediator of God and human beings, the human being Christ Jesus,

who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the martyrdom at its own timing,

to which I was set as a herald and an apostle—I speak truth*; I do not lie—a teacher of nations* in faith* and truth.

So I wish the husbands* to pray, in every place lifting up holy hands, without anger* and calculation*;

in the self-same way* wives to order themselves, in orderly deportment, with respectfulness* and sound-mindedness, not in braids* and gold or pearls or greatly costly clothing,

but what marks wives promising reverence of God through good works.

A wife must learn in quietness*, with all subordination.

Now, I do not permit a wife to teach or exercise authority over a husband, but to be in quietness.

For Adám first was formed, then Heúa.

And Adám was not deceived. But the wife, having been thoroughly deceived, became in transgression.

Yet she shall be saved through the childbearing, if they* continue in faith and loving-kindness and holiness with sound-mindedness.
