1 So I appeal to you, I the prisoner by* the Lord, to walk worthily of the calling by which you were called,
2 with all humble-consciousness and meekness, with great-heartedness* bearing up one another in love,
3 hastening* to keep the unity of the Spirit by* the shared bond of the peace.
4 There is one Body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of the calling of yours,
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all,
who is over all things and through* all things and by* all things.
7 To each one of you, though, is granted the* grace according to the measure of the gift of the Christ.
8 Therefore it says, "Having ascended to height He took captivity captive,
and gave gifts to* human beings."
9 Yet, the "He ascended" is what, if not that also He descended* to the lower parts, of the Earth?*
10 The same One having descended is also the One having ascended over the heavens, so that He fulfil all the things.
11 And He gave though the apostles yet the prophets, yet the evangelists, yet the shepherds* and teachers,
