Do not judge, so that you not be judged.
For with the judgement you judge with, you will be judged, and with the measure you measure with, it will be measured to you.
Yet why do observe the chip that is in the eye of the sibling of yours, yet the beam that is in the eye of yours you do not make note of?
Or how do you demand of the sibling of yours, 'Allow that I take out the chip from the eye of yours!", and look, the beam in the eye of yours!
Hypocrite! Take out firstly the beam from the eye of yours, and then you will see thoroughly to take out the chip in the eye of the sibling of yours.
Do not give the holy to the dogs, and nor cast the pearls of yours to the pigs, lest ever they trample them by the feet of theirs—even, having turned, they rend you.
Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you.
Indeed, everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds. And to him who knocks, it will be opened.
Or what person is there of you, if his child asks bread of him, he might give him a stone?
Or even if he requests a fish, he might give him a serpent?
If you, therefore, being evil, know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in the heavens give good things to them who ask Him?
Therefore, all whatsoever you wish that people would do for you, so also do for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Go in through the narrow gate, because wide is the gate and roomy the way leading away into the destruction and many are the in-goers through it,
because narrow is the gate and hard-pressured the way leading away into the life and few are the finders of it.
Beware of the false prophets: whoever comes to you in sheep's clothing yet inwardly they are rapacious wolves.
By the fruits of theirs you will identify them. Why do they not gather from thorns grapes or from thistles figs?
Like this, every good tree makes fine fruit. Yet the rotten tree makes useless fruit.
A good tree cannot make useless fruit, and nor a rotten tree make fine fruit.
Every tree not making a fine fruit is chopped down and cast into fire.
Therefore indeed, by the fruits of theirs you will identify them.
Not everyone who is saying to me 'Lord! Lord!' will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens, but the one who is doing the will of the Father of Mine who is in the heavens.
Many will demand of me on that day, 'Lord! Lord! Did we not, by Your name, prophesy, and by Your name cast out demons, and by Your name do many miracles?'
And at that time I will confess to them 'Yet not ever have I known you. Depart from me, O workers of the lawlessness!'
Therefore, anyone, whoever listens to these the words of Mine and does them, will be likened to a prudent man, someone who built the house of his on the rock.
And the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they fell against that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock.
And anyone who is listening to these the words of Mine and not doing them will be likened to a moronic man, someone who built the house of his on the sand.
And the rain came down, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they fell against that house, and it fell, and the fall of it was mega.
And it happened, when the Jesus completed the words, these, that the crowds were astounded by the teaching of His,
for He was teaching them as having authority and not as the scribes of theirs.
Notes
v. 20 Possibly because those who do not identify false prophets will not continue in God's people and eternal presence. The 10 Commandments are phrased similarly, "You will not commit adultery."
