Allacus is the only civilian settlement across the Voidwatch island. Originally it was founded to provide support for Fort Constance, with a fair amount of industry such as smithies, fishing, tinkerers, and doctors. However, over time, as Voidwatch began to rely more heavily on the contributions of other nations, Allacus instead grew into a bustling coastal city with everything that the families of Voidwatch officers would need. In the 4th Age, it's known for its fish market, oyster diving, mountain-climbing, and yacht races.
While Voidwatch citizens are quite wealthy, and Allacus a well-developed city, their lives are not always easy. Allacus is also known for crimes and other incidents. Families of Voidwatch officers can be targets of violent threats from individuals under investigation for magical crimes, leading to a number of rigid and oppressive laws meant to keep citizens safe. Additionally, in spite of the availability of excellent healthcare, Voidwatch officers are still exposed to a wide variety of illnesses, physical, mental, and magical, and there is a pervasive risk to their families. But even outside of the situational hazards, there is even the petty and spiteful rivalries between families as they vie for hierarchy amidst each other, occasionally resorting to malicious rumors or even violence.
