Urcha Jal-Makh represents the ever-shifting tensions between Taesir and Norgir. It was constructed overlooking the L'Baxh Barranca as a neutral stronghold where orc tribes could rest and resupply before making raids into Taesir. For nearly a century, the settlement marked the edge of Norgir territory and withstood many sieges from desert tribes. However, as national interest in taking desert territory waned, so did Norgir's influence over Jal-Makh. Eventually, the Grand Tabalikkar offered to purchase the city from Norgir, which they accepted. However, recent plans to build an enormous dam across the canyon have introduced new tensions between the neighboring nations as it would reduce flow of the River Taes into Norgir. In response, Norgir has renewed their claim to Urcha Jal'Makh from which it could prevent the construction.
