Originally considered a beautiful tourist destination, the discovery of ancient ruins swiftly attracted adventurers and archeologists to Calaman Cay. Of course, for a while tourism exploded at the idea of unexplored cities, but after a number of deaths due to unstable architecture, venomous wildlife, and unexpected traps quickly warded off the more casual visitors. More professional crews are still surveying the island to determine extent of the ruins, what civilization may have build them and when, and what happened to them that would leave their buildings relatively intact but leave so little evidence of the people who once lived there.
