Dwarvic is a highly clinical language without many exceptions. Therefore, learning the basics of Dwarvic speech is simpler than many other major languages in Blimnor. The difficulty of the language lies in a great deal of regional and situational vocabulary, and much redundant word options still in common usage. Thus, The Dwarves of Vorduhr are quick to make socioeconomic, cultural, and intellectual assumptions on the basis of word choices that appear meaningless to a non-native speaker.

While most Dwarvic writing in Vorduhr uses Dwaazan, a vertically-oriented series of runic symbols (pictured above), The second age saw a massive uptick in the use of Common Dwarvic transliteration. This culminated in an official codification of Common Dwarvic Script (CDC), approved by Royal Decree, in SA 1876 by Queen Erevel II. The script has been criticized by Vorduhrian hardliners for not capturing the importance of word choice in the highly redundant Dwarvic language. However, the horizontal orientation of CDC allows for a much higher text density on most written materials.

The Verbs of Dwarvic (Fgodok) do not conjugate like Orcish, Common, or most Gnomish dialects, but rather take on tense cues attached to the front of the verb infinitive. Tense cues are monosyllabic tidbits that alert the listener of key context without sullying the understanding of the verb itself, and therefore are typically said with a glottal stroke. A few particularly old verbs are endloaders, marked below EL, because they take tense cues at the end of the verb. Stressed syllables on Endloaders are generally on the first syllable of the word infinitive, whereas traditional verbs have their stress on the tense cue itself.
