Since the war with Vordhur, the kingdom of Ibania has relentlessly grown their military, but consequently struggled with internal strife, with its duchies locked in endless series of skirmishes across entrenched fields. Furthermore, their ambition of creating a benevolent empire across their many colonies throughout Blimnor has met with resistance, provoking further aggression abroad.

Ibanclaw Duchy is one of the two original Duchies of Ibania and the homeland of Viktyr I Baeyrd, the first king of Ibania. The region is small, windswept, and only modestly fertile. However, its long and royal history has given Ibanclaw gifts of wealth and culture unheard of further west. The first Royal palace, Ardentfort, stands in the center of Baeyrd, and now serves as one of the kingdom's great theaters.
County Cerdia was the historic third Duchy of Ibania, joining the fold in the early eighth century SA. It is characterized by gray skies and a cool climate, with desolate moors giving way to bustling port cities for both maritime and riverboat industry. In the early fourth age, County Cerdia has become Ibania's manufacturing powerhouse, particularly its cities along the Ardoriaxh (Silver River), which form the center of the colloquial "Silt Heart" of Ibania's modernizing economy. In fact, the shift from third age to fourth in the economic life of Ibania can best be described as a shift northward; from the agrarian dominance of the Bountylands in the third age to the rise of the Cerdian laborer in the fourth.
House Dalgonet, the historic lords of County Cerdia, were second only to the Baeyrds themselves in notoriety and power. However, the line began to wane during the War of the Elvish Hegemony, culminating with the murder of Count Nicholas Dalgonet and his family at the hands of High King Engwar Olaine in SA 2522. While much Dalgonet blood remained in the line of kings after the Baeyrdic restoration, House Dalgonet never recovered and for a time, County Cerdia lacked its liege lord. After a number of skirmishes and negotiations with the Ibankings, the upstart House Vale attained rulership of Cerdia in TA 410, When Queen Viktyria II Baeyrd wed House progenitor Dallagous Vale.
The current (MA 50) Count of Cerdia is Herodias Vale. Aged 57 and in suspect health. Much of the details of House governance are handled by his son, Deepwood Baron Edric Doran Vale. His second son, Lucan Caelis Vale, holds the title "Baron of Mercy", as is customary for second sons in House Vale. Herodias also has a daughter Elowin Alys Vale.

Named after one of Ibania's first kings, The Herodon Road functioned for much of its early history as the heart of Ibania, bringing food, goods, and culture though the land. While the road has become less essential in the fourth age with the advent of railroads, it remains active for traders and artisans travelling shorter distances, and for religious pilgrims taking the long journey east.
Lake Cognus is remarkable for having two outflows, one continuing the Silver River that empties into Ascension Bay, and the other being the Eels River. This allows access to city of Silvergate from both the west and south coasts of Ibania. Some geologists theorize that over time the lake will drain to the point that it will no longer empty into one of the rivers. Because this could severely impact the economy of cities downriver, and of Silvergate, the Ibanian Kingdom is investing a great deal of money into potential solutions, the most likely of which may be a number of dams and locks to help maintain the water level and control flow to both rivers.
Known to its Snow Elvish inhabitants as Nurwenon, The Deepwood is a cold, coniferous, and austere forest stretching hundreds of miles across northern Ibania. Much of the area remains cold year round and during winter, the northern deepwood is thrust into darkness for over a month.
