Neversleep City goes by many names including Somnolent City, The Big Snooze, or The Hag's Pot. It is a sprawling metropolis of warped and leaning modern architecture, nonsensical roads, and the sound of distant jazz music, all bathed in the cool blue of night and the warm glow of lanterns.
Contrary to its name, Neversleep City prevents its residents from falling asleep, or even closing their eyes for more than a moment. This can be felt by a intching wanderlust, needling anxiety, or more subtlely by the constant emergence of new opportunities for misadventure. Fortunately, this seems to have no lasting consequences, and indeed people there cheerfully boast that they always have enough energy for one more outing.
As a result the city is renowned for its active nightlife. Among the most popular forms of entertainment here are the street musicians that follow you from corner to corner, the changeling mimes that infiltrate stag parties, the speakeasies that serve as fronts for other more secretive speakeasies, and above all the Feyway theaters full of catchy musical numbers.
However, Neversleep City also has its darker qualities. Both the Seelie and Unseelie court have a strong presence in the city and vie for power and influence, resulting in a great deal of street fights between rival gangs. Even those not loyal to either Court often find themselves coerced into working for more insidious organizations such as Dona Oca's Coven, Tippie's Dollhouse, or the Changeling Exchange. Perhaps worst of all, fey with enough influence often wipe the memories of their underlings with the dreaded incantation Fuhgeddaboudit.
Even so, the whimsical opportunities of Neversleep City have a strong draw for both residents of Faeland and of Blimnor, and officials of both worlds have opened discussions of a possible permanent Fey Crossing directly between Neversleep and Sparklekk, allowing people to pass freely.
