The Island of Dappa Oba is home to the Menagerie of Extraordinary Wildlife, an ambitious zoological park that encompasses the entire island, with many of its wildlife pens large enough that the animals may roam freely. To view the animals in their habitats, guests may board small airships that drift over the pens and safely observe.
Among its many featured animals are dinosaurs, primates, oozes, hydras, giants, rocs, mammoths, roper, as well as a few undead creatures. Acquisition of these creatures has been somewhat of a controversy. The creatures with a certain amount of intelligence have advocates who question whether it should be legal to display them as animals. Other creatures are notoriously dangerous or magical, making it more dangerous to allow guests to get close enough to see them. And others are strange or anomalous enough that they could only have been acquired though elicit means.
The Geurogg family, a rich and eccentric clan of ogres, insist that they observe all necessary precautions, employ teams of experienced handlers capable both of treating the creatures with respect and caution, and have an extensive system of technological and magical security should a breach occur. To illustrate this, they also remind visitors that since the park was opened, there has been no reported incidents involving guests and they intend on keeping that record intact for as long as they sell admission.
