Allebari is a mythical oasis which has long been referred to in the journals of desert explorers. The exact descriptions or accounts of Allebari differ, but there are a number of commonalities.
First, Allebari is most often encountered somewhere along the Sunwatch road. Travelers making the trip between Seaxh and the River Taes are likely to be suffering from exhaustion, sun stroke, and dehydration, when appearance of a source of water would certainly be a godsend. However less commonly, it may appear in the open desert as well.
Second, Allebari is described as a number of small shallow pools of cold water surrounded by desert plants such as cacti, date palms, and bushes. Sometimes there are other desert animals sharing in the water and shade, and in some cases these animals can talk or otherwise show abnormal intelligence.
Third, the oasis only appears under certain circumstances. Not many agree on what precisely those circumstances are, but some examples are: purity of spirit, absolute desperation, a half-moon, five days without water, being wounded by a knife or sword, kissing a camel or horse, having buried all clothing and belongings beneath the sand, wandering from the Sunwatch road, or traveling backwards for a number of bones along the Sunwatch road.
Finally, there are a number of tales of Allebari which are each unique. One claims that there was an old merchant at the oasis who would happily trade curiosities or necessities in exchange for nearly worthless items such as a handful of sand, or a lock of hair. Another is the appearance of a great domed tower whose interior seems to extend infinitely upward, or conversely a spiraling tunnel that extends infinitely downward. One story claims that when wading into the oasis pool, it became a great ocean of fresh water. One traveler claims to have discovered a great stone door with alabaster carvings, standing alone in its frame and would not budge no matter the force. A classic story is that of a poor nomad finding that the sand around the oasis was actually grains of pure gold, melting into glittering ingots in the sun, but if taken from the oasis would disintegrate once again into worthless sand.
